Temporarily Closed Due to Flooding - UPDATE

UPDATE 7/8/2010: Despite receiving 2 inches of rain yesterday, river levels in the area have dropped below their flood stages and Rock Creek is back in its banks. Even with rain forcasted for tonight, flooding is forcasted to be minimal. We feel the threat of flooding in the store has diminished and that we can safely return to business. We have been working hard this afternoon moving products and equipment back into the store. We plan to reopen for business tomorrow (Friday) morning for normal operating hours (9:00 - 5:00). The rain, however, will continue to affect our service schedules as most of the services we offer cannot be completed with the ground as saturated with water as it is now. We plan to resume service work at the beginning of next week. If you have any questions about your service and when it will be completed, you may call us at 620-331-8301, but rest assured we will complete your work as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this rainy season and once again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Because of the large amounts of rain received the past few days, rivers in our area have reached their flood stages and many are out of their banks, including the Verdigras River and Rock Creek, which runs adjacent to Independence Nursery. With more rain expected in the next few days the threat of rapidly rising water is imminent. With this in mind we have made the difficult decision to evacuate the store. We have moved out all products that could pose a threat to the safety of the environment, community, or our employees if flooding were to occur. Until the threat of rising water diminishes we will be closed for business. We apologize for any inconvenience this creates for our customers. Any customer that is currently waiting for work or service to be done should rest assured that we will complete the work as soon as we are able to. We will continue to monitor the weather and river conditions and will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. Continue to check our website and facebook page for updates and a re-opening date.
