Christmas Tree Pre-Orders

We are now taking orders for Christmas Trees. Christmas trees will be available at Independence Nursery this year by pre-order only. We have several sizes and types to choose from. Half of the price of the tree is due at the time of order. All orders are due by August 20. Pay for the tree in full by August 20 and receive 10% off.

Storewide Sale - One week only

The boss is on vacation this week and as the saying goes "when the cat is away the mice will play." We have put everything in the store on sale. All merchandise, storewide is 30% off. Trees, shrubs, chemicals, tools, hunting supplies, EVERYTHING is on sale. But our boss isn't going to be away forever. The sale will end this Saturday, July 24.

Temporarily Closed Due to Flooding - UPDATE

UPDATE 7/8/2010: Despite receiving 2 inches of rain yesterday, river levels in the area have dropped below their flood stages and Rock Creek is back in its banks. Even with rain forcasted for tonight, flooding is forcasted to be minimal. We feel the threat of flooding in the store has diminished and that we can safely return to business. We have been working hard this afternoon moving products and equipment back into the store. We plan to reopen for business tomorrow (Friday) morning for normal operating hours (9:00 - 5:00).

Closed July 5th

We will be closed on Monday July 5th to celebrate Independence Day with our friends and families. We hope everyone has a happy 4th of July!

Carpenter Bees

We've been getting a lot of calls about big bees lately. These are carpenter bees. They winter over as adults and cannot sting. They tunnel into wood, producing round holes about a half inch wide, and lay their eggs. The eggs develop through the summer and the young adults spend the winter in the tunnels. The following spring the cycle begins again.
